Why?
Why Linux?
Security
For years we have lived with viruses
and trojans in Windows.
In the spring of 2004 we saw an explosion
of spyware, spam relays, and password sniffers.
You see almost none of this under Linux.
You've got computer problems?
Everybody's got computer problems.
There are only two basic solutions:
throw money at Microsoft,
or learn Linux.
Why Now?
Linux is already the master of the
server industry.
Linux runs the Internet.
But Linux has been playing catch-up
on the desktop.
Linux servers are excellent;
Linux workstations were hard to use
but are getting better.
The line has been crossed -
the Linux desktop is usable.
The Linux community has been saying
"someday" for years;
I am happy to announce that
"someday" is today.
Why Thailand?
For the past two decades
computer systems in Thailand
have run on pirate copies
of Microsoft operating systems.
But with the growth of international
trade and globalization,
the world economy will no longer
tolerate software piracy.
If you're running pirate
copies of Windows,
the BSA will knock on your door.
Pay up, or switch to Linux.
Why Arakka?
Linux is as good as Windows.
But it isn't the same.
All the features you need
are on the menus,
but the menu items aren't
in the same places
and may not use the same words.
Installation can be confusing.
You can use it, you should use it.
But you want help.
That's where Arakka comes in.
We know Linux.
